I guess your response was to me and I'm not disputing that in the 70's through present that was the case. I was referring to what was documented through picture and historic films. Here is part of my earlier post:
Right that is modern times. I was referring to the 1930's and 1940's when they were in use on the Rio Grande and it seemed that the large butterfly frogs were not commenly hung on tenders as they are today.
Also I did say that it was the norm to see the yellow frogs on the ng loco's mainly the K-28's from the late 60's through the 70's. I guess we are talking about different era's here.
