Anyone know why some where painted yellow?
A G scale model of #473 comes with yellow rerailers. I figured they were remnants from when it was painted grade gold in the early 1950s.
On our model, I painted them aluminum/silver as I prefer that color and it seems to fit our layout time period (late 1940s) based on prototype photos. I also removed the center one (larger rerailer) as I didn't see it in too many photos until after the 1940s.
