I have to disagree with that. I believe they were black originally but were later painted yellow. And most commonly today they are silver. I know I've seen pics of the 499 in the early 60's with yellow frogs and the 488. Also the K-28's had yellow frogs while on Silverton service during the Grande years through the 70's.
