I worked for the DRGW for half of the 70s, all of the 80s, and most of the 90s. New frogs were yellow and wound up being painted at the whim of the painter. If a painter felt like it he would paint around them, or paint them silver. Usually they wound up being what ever color the piece of equiptment was painted. The set that I took to Durango in 1979 were still on the shipping crate that they were sent to the DRGW on. They were yellow.

Disagree if you like, but thats the history I remember being a part of.
