For those who may not be aware, A.A."Brownie" Anderson was an engineer on the C&S West End who worked the line for a very long time. He lived in Como, as far as I know, even when he was working the Climax Branch after abandonment of the mainline.
I've never seen that picture before, thanks for sharing. During those years, everyone was scrounging scrap steel everywhere it could be found for the war effort. I'm sure that's why these were stripped. Even the grabirons and railings are gone.
