Im following this inteliigent and informative thread with interest as I will be publishing my second book within the next few weeks-I never considered the archival ink argument which is good to know. As for my experience the printer I am going with is charging $4.500 for 1500 copies of approximately 150 pages with color-using the highest quality paper/ink and a small test run that I can approve or disapprove before paying. Another footnote without getting to far off topic is that there certainly are people in the publishing businessthat will take advantage of newbies. Always document transactions and make sure that all details are agreed and documented beforehand, but there are also some really good people in the business
