That IS a good idea - assuming you mean "a Shay from Golden", and not a "Golden Shay".
Although I must admit to seeing more than one shiny brass HOn3, Sn3 or On3 model shay
chugging around a layout, I've gotten far too much grief for the idea of re-painting an engine
to stand in for #483 in full movie regalia circa 1970 next month to recommend a 12-inch-to-
the-foot version of an all-brass locomotive.
I've been trying to talk Phil Reader into coming down to Chama for the 40th Anniversary weekend and a reunion with a couple of his "Loopy" friends - I'll bet having one of his favorite engines based at Cumbres would cinch it!
