I suggested something similar to this for their regular runs out of Chama since the bridge is closed, and something similar to this may be what Russ is planning for his little re-enactment train.
The idea definitely has merit, assuming they have an engine available in Chama for this.
The problem is that some of the regular customers may spend only $50.00
versus the longer trips, thus cutting out money for the C&TS. Thats the sort of logic I got from past regimes regarding the C&TS running shorter trips.
I'd like to see them do something similar to this on a regular basis
once they get the motive power and trackage working 100% again. They could do 1/2 day $50.00 photo charters once or twice a week perhaps, mixing up the scenarios over the course of a season. One week might be the Chama end yard to Lobato. Another might be to Cumbres and Back. An Antonito to Big Horn or Sublette might work. Right now I think they have their hands full with the Lobato Bridge situation.
Your idea is a good one to me at least.
