John's right, my claim was a qualified one, and RGRPC used the regular coaches instead of the converted box cars used for the Friend's annual moonlight special.
Also, I've long advocated that, if sufficient motive power and train crews were available, running a Moonlight Train once a week could really add to the bottom line -- except of course the no-moon nights, when the train would be renamed the "Starlight Express."
As for photo selection, the scenic shots done back in the RGRPC days that placed the train in the scenery were my favorites. Many were done or selected by what is now the west Agency with guidance and selection provide by Kim Smith Casford and John Craft (incidentally, John deserves credit for developing the Moonlight Train program and he's no slouch as a railroad photographer himself).
