Hhhhmmmm - August 20th is five or six days before the full moon, and Railfest will be going on
in Durango & Silverton.   I wonder if it's too late to change the August date to Monday, 08/23 -
just 2 days before full when the moon will be larger and brighter but still up an hour or so before
sunset, and some of the Railfest fans can stop by Chama on their way home??

p.s. Can you use your influence to have #489 be the road engine on the August 23 Moonlight Train? If so, I'll show up by early afternoon and help wash her jacket before the trip!

pps. Michael Ripley and I had discussed doing a night photo shoot at Osier in August to make up for the one we missed in May; I'm pretty sure he wouldn't mind leaving the lights set up for an extra few minutes for any fans who might be on the train to make use of after he is done doing his P.R. photos for the railroad while they are having dinner. We can do this on Monday the 23rd, but not on the 20th as we will be in Durango on Friday ...
