Not much. In years past, you could see the turntable pit, but they filled that in for parking space for the bikers and motorcycle nuts. The foundations for the Marshall Pass depot were still in place last time I was there, but don't know if they are still there.

Try to avoid the mountain bikers if possible. These idiots love to get in front of you and go as slow as they can and there is no way to pass them. Being the gentleman that I am, I did not yield to the temptation to spin my wheels and throw mud all over them, but it was SO, SO tempting.

It is still worth the drive as the road is on the ROW most of the way and you can image the 472 or 479 pulling the Shavano or three Ks on a freight coming up the west side. And it is a beautiful ride. There are many more trees now than in the D&RGW days, so feels like going thru a tunnel in a few spots. If you hit it just right, the aspen will be beuatiful. Even the day with the snow turned out to be great as the sun came out, the sky was blue, the snow was white, and the aspen golden. Got some great photos that day.

Be sure to visit the Pioneer Museum in Gunnison and get a copy of the little history book I wrote on the 268 and equipment.
