I do remember the 85 in 1960 or 61? Somewhere in my stuff I have an
advertisement for travel town around that period with a photo also. I believe my dad took
some shots of her. There was a piece of tangent track next to the freeway that she ran over probably less than a mile. In fact I remember riding behind her several times. Toward the end of her operation at travel town I remember my dad talking to the engineer saying that
they keep dropping the working pressure and her flue time was running out. He told dad if they dropped it any lower they would not get the injectors to prime.That was one of my earliest recolections of steam
in southern california other than Knott's.I sure hope she will some day run again.
