You know it kinda strikes me as odd that fans want to take perfectly good engines and make them into other engines that don't exist!! Can't we just be happy we have the real deal in some form. Last time I looked we have examples of K28's,K36's,and eventually K27 and K37, not,to mention the 315. Do we really need to renumber engines into Rio Grande Southern, and other engines in the same classes? Food for thought.
When I look at this shot of 472 I have to wonder why it was done. Since the engine is lettered D&S it doesn't signify anything historical, and I would have been just as happy with it as 473, or 478, whichever one it really is!!! I guess I think sometimes fans take these idea way too far!!
