As of bed time on the 17th, the running of 476 on a Flanger Turn on the 18th was still up in the air. At shortly after 6am we were eating breakfast at Mickey D's when 476 came shuffling out off the ready track and stopped right outside the window. I recognized fireman Chase Bond, so ran outside to get the scoop. Indeed they were taking the flanger up to Cascade Wye. So, we finished eating and got set up behind the Strater Hotel at 7th St. to catch them heading out of town in the early morning light.
We hustled ahead on the snowpacked Durango streets and caught them again at 36th St.
Back in the yard, SP 18 shuffled forth across 6th St. and back to her train.
RGS 5 waited on the next track. Half the passengers would ride the goose, the other half behind the SP 18.
SP 18 getting ready to board her passengers.
