Yes, the puller would be interesting to see. Mr. Greer said the puller is intended to be able to engage the spike for three bites during a pull. I can see how you could engage the top head for the first bite, and then engage the lower head for the second bite. What I don’t understand is how you could go lower and engage the shank at the bottom of its taper for the third bite. It seems to me that attempting to do so would simply result in riding back up to the second bite.
Another mystery is how the puller, which is said to rest its fulcrum upon the rail base, would accommodate the slope of the rail base. The puller fulcrum could be made to match that slope, but then it would only work from one side of the spike.
