I read of no effort to get Soni to re-consider his leaving nor for that matter any time spent toward keeping the same thing from happening when the next well-qualified person is the incumbent and has had his fill of the usual second guessing. Seems there is a pattern here. I dare to say that there are some well qualified folks(like retired railroaders, that might see the fun such a challenge could be as well as the beauty of the country) out there that just might take the job for the range of money offered if they didn't have to spend half or more of their time dodging mine fields.
Andy,
Overlooked by many is the heart of the problem which was succinctly summarized by you. Soni's letter is published elsewhere but it boils down to two persons on the board micro-managing and second guessing all his decisions. The issues with the board are what has to be addressed by the commission. Talking about Jay, as others have done here, doesn't accomplish anything; he's always been known to stir the pot but usually his info is right on the mark no matter his presentation. However, the commissioners, especially Randy Randall, made their own mark with their very strong language about the CTSMC board.
