Two other Photoshop cropping details. Once you have the crop box established, you can temporarily turn off "snapping" by holding down the "ctrl" key while you are making a selection near the side of the image. Snapping returns when you release the control key. Also, you can use the arrow keys to move the entire cropping box by a specified amount of pixels for each tap of the key.
