I do not know when the last 2-8-8-2 went over La Veta. I need some help on this one. 1956 was the last year of SG steam on the RG at least in frt operations. The 2-8-8-2s, what little they were used in 1956, were used as helpers on both sides of the Moffat Tunnel and possibly on Tenn Pass. I would be surprised if Alamosa saw one in 1956 but maybe?
Dec 26, 1956 was the last SG steam run; 2-8-0 1151 was used on the Creede Branch on that last day.
