I do not know this, my problem lies in the fact that I am close to 1000 miles away in texas. We get what little information we can while we are there. My guess would be
probably not, however, due to two facts, the boiler is most likely a different size on the 16s (different curvature on the boiler saddle). And, while the C19's were made in almost the same time, the 17s and 18s were built over 15 years later. Like anything on the current market, changes are made every year. some unnoticeable, while others very apparent.
As I was typing this part, I looked at the two sets of plans hanging on my wall of a k36, and a k37, and I realize that these two types of locos had different size boilers, but were built on the exact same frame. So it is possible, but I do not know for sure...
I have no factual knowledge to back this, however, I would really like to know. If they are, this would help our modeling ideas greatly.
