"This picture of C&S 641 was taken at Leadville in December 1961. I am curious if the large building on the right hand side of the picture is of railroad signficance. In checking some maps and satellite views of Leadville the building appears to be where the DRGW yard may have been, or at least the C&S interchange with the DRGW. Recent views suggest all that is left of the building is a foundation. The building has a "railroady" look to it, but perhaps it was just an industrial or mining operation of some type. Just curious."

Thank you for posting this view. I thoroughly enjoy it. Though it does bring to mind regrets of photos not taken. I went to Leadville any number of times to photograph the 641 and not once did it dawn on me to step over and take a photo of that structure. Just at the very right edge of your view one can make out a portion of the freight depot.
Viewing my D&RGW structure information I see that this structure began life as a car repair shop. Then in 1942: "Remodel for use as engine house. Construct drop pit on track #10, 50'x9'x4' deep with 12" reinforced concrete floor, 18" reinforced concrete walls ........Install three 2'x6' smoke jacks, electrical wiring in conduit - (45 outlets, 12 switches)."
Structure was retired in 1966.
As to turn table at C&S round house, I also did not notice any turn table during my visits.
