John:
The D&RGW had a roundhouse with a turntable earlier. After the end of steam, the roundhouse and turntable were removed. The building was originally the car shop only, but according to a D&RGW retired guy, the building was used to keep the Geep switcher due to the extreme cold in Leadville. Would not have needed a big smoke jack for a growler.
