The discussion here centers on how someone interprets numbers.
I have worked with numbers and statistics for over 20 years trying to use them to predict future manufacturing needs.
It goes back to what I learned in school. Raw data can be slanted any way you want. Since everyone has a bias (based on their own life lessons), everyone will interpret things different.
I've many times taken "raw" data from someone and shown them by analysing it differently, you get diametrically opposite results with both methods being agreed upon before I started;
My own take on the RGRPGRG (sorry I can never remember the corporate name) is Hurrah!!!! You saved the railroad and are starting to get in back together and move it towards a first class operation. You are actually reversing roadbed deterioration that (based on posts on this forum) might not have been attended to since D&RGW days.
