I'll post some more pictures shortly. Grading work continues, no ties or rail laid, switches still not delivered, rail is via Dolores but came out of Rocky Mtn. Arsenal near Denver.
The D&S had their yearly meeting with the folks of Silverton this evening at the town hall, and on tap for next year are some interesting ideas, like running the 315 with the 4, and Al Harper and staff are more than interested in working with the 315 group. We found out that ridership has been almost identical with 2008, but revenues are actually up about 7% due mainly to the enthusiastic response to the first class service being offered. And, the D&S will be moving the cars out of the way for the tie-in switch from the new track in the next little bit, details still forth coming.
And we had a nice visit from a fellow who spent several days in Silverton who spoke about green boiler jackets an awful lot. He claims to have obtained some actual D&RGW green paint.
