Refer to page 87 & 88 of "Chili and Santa Fe.." which shows a bridge over the Rio Grande river, also with mid pier missing, but at Espanola.
There may had been a railroad bridge with a siding track on it at Embudo also, and this siding was abandoned and bridge turned over to the town. But I might stand corrected on this.
Yes, you are correct the first note was the San Juan Extension east of Chama. Just included as a point of local interest.
While you are here, would there be any other trestle besides Lobato refered to in the following item:
August 28, 1889 New Mexican (Santa Fe)
"Chama note: A trestle six miles east of town was burned yesterday afternoon and the west-bound passenger was delayed six hours". [Lobato is 4.34 miles east of Chama Station.]?
