I have been very out of touch with all that has been going at home right now but I did hear through CNN that Canada has been shipping "supplies" south in large truck convoys. I don't know if it was food, blood or what. Just that it was to help the relief effort in New York.
The only reason it even made the news is because they were talking about the 6 hour line-ups at the boarder and how it was hurting the trucking business. However, these "special" shippment, were sent to the head of the line so they could be on there way south. Of course, nobody had a problem with that.
I'm sure other countries have helped also but once again, working in the jungles of Africa, I find it hard to keep up to date on all of this.
There is not need for thanks. I'm just a citizen. Canadians are kinda funny about taking credit for helping out when people are in need. I remember, back in the 80's when Canada got all those hostages out of Iran, an American whom I had never met before, bought me a drink one night in the bar and said "Thanks". That was more thanks then most Canadians would ever or should ever need.
