Here is a photo taken from the top of the cut looking upgrade (north east) of the wreck site. Summit is about a mile distant. This is the only place on the C & C (or the SP system for that matter) where there is a "dense" forest of Pinyon Pines and Juniper Trees. Would have been a neat photo location to catch a passing train. George Sapp & Brian Norden are seen discussing some point of interest. Unlike all previous trips it was cold enough to need heavier clothes than a T shirt & shorts (although George braved the elements for a short while sans jacket...)
