Howdy, Stranger -
Not that you're anywhere near as strange as I am, but I've been off-line for a while and am just now catching up on two month's worth of NGDF after FINALLY getting a high speed connection. So now I can REALLY enjoy Mr. Turner's and Mr. West's photos without having to wait for five minutes (each!), and enjoying them I am! The #93 + #40 in the enginehouse is fabulous, and is a great illustration of how B&W can add an air of mystery to a photo (and a
film noir) that the realism of color often misses. And your photos - both you and John - are always so SHARP! How do you do it? Mine always seem to get fuzzy when I compress them for on-line viewing.
Yours are FABULOUS!!

p.s. I do have a question about the color shot at the coaling tower: why is it cropped with so much foreground and so little sky? I was taught to put the main focus - in this case the front of the train - at
about 1/3 to 2/5 over and 1/3 to 2/5 up from the lower corner of the composition ...
