Knatural gas? Never heard that one! We had a natural gas burner that we used to steam them up with, but we were burning No.2 diesel for operating at least until 3/1989 when I left.

One time on a late spring tour of new employees, the tour guide took the small group on the train ride for their orientation. At that time, the counductors gave a live narrative during the trip. As the train was leaving the station, the conductor, who's name was Phil, described the railroad that Walter Knott had preserved. He went on to say that "these authentic steam engines are powered by hot air from the Knott family."

When it was related to management, they didn't think it was funny. Poor Phil had a very poor review that season.
