With the railline cut to Puerto Barrios, everything would have to be trucked from where ever it is now. The costs will out weight the move of the equipment.
Remember the series of threads on the movement of the Panama locos. The costs for a heavy hauler ship run up the cost considerably. It seems that a lot of historic equipment could go for scrap since it is easier to cut it up than to transport intact back to the US.
Maybe 30 years ago the costs would be offset. Today a lot of costs have skyrocketed. Unless you have some friends in high places that can find some help. Don't forget that once you show interest in anything then the famous Oh, that is a state treasure. We can't possibility think of selling this.
