The stall on the right - with the NG rail, held caboose 04343 until Phil Anchutz took it away. This last part of the round house was torn down at Christmas of 1997. The planing mill came down too. I was in Alamosa and drove by the yard. The planing mill was already a pile of bricks and locals were busily loading thier pickups with used bricks. Across the yard the windows and doors were gone from the roundhouse, and large cranes had cables looped through the window openings getting ready to yank it down. The roundhouse contained a NG traveling drop pit. It is too bad that couldn't have been saved.
