Phil - Phil Johnson was showing me this photo yesterday when I was at the CRRM and I never new the 14 was in this fire. I always wondered why the sides of the tender were so buckled compared to the other Westside shays. Phil pointed out that the current tender looks like the same one that survived the fire in the photo. That would explain the condition of the sides of the tender.

I to am very attached to No. 14 as it was the first steam locomotive I ever operated (Central City, CO - 1976).
