Bob Richardson

I had a most pleasant surprise today when Bob Richardson and Gordon Chappel visited Silverton and had lunch at the Pickle Barrel. Bob is 96 and still holding his own, still telling railroad stories, and still remembers my first visit to the Narrow Gauge Museum in Alamosa a mere 50 years ago. Bob arrived in Denver from Pennsylvania on Amtrak, and Gordon has been driving Bob around the state seeing the old haunts. They rode the train over LaVeta Pass and will be in attendance at the Narrow Gauge convention in Durango. Bob is an amazing man and to see him still going strong at his age is wonderful. He told me a couple of stories about the 42 that I'll relate later.
