Jerry can, of course, chime in on this, but my suspicions are that the three K-28's that weren't sold were chosen simply because they were the most recently rebuilt locomotives (and, of course, they were converted, which excludes the 474). My favorite one was the 475, primarily due to a Richard B. Jackson prewar photo of her on the Chili Line. But at least we've still got three of these left...
