Freedom of speech, in my opinion, is the freedom to express ideas in a civil forum. Name calling, insults, and other derogatory language is in a way, an attempt to demonstrate superiority, and so it intends to close discussion by shutting up a participant, or discussion of a particular idea.

If people care to take the time to be civil, there should be no censorship. From the RYPN Interchange Etiquette:
"We have never yet seen an opinion, no matter how controversial, that cannot be stated courteously."
