Good one Russ...don't know when they were last used, but they did have Superheat and piston valves (Walschaert timed?)
As an aside, anybody come up with a later candidate for the last
4-4-0 operating in actual service than the trio @ Sao Jao del Rei,
Brazil on the VFCO...I photographed one working in 1977!
