I think it is time that we as members of the Narrow Gauge Community start informing the fine citizens of Colorado of the outrageous waste of public funds and the crimes upon our history and heritage in which the CHS is committing against the citizens of Colorado and the rest of the states of this nation.
How do we do this?
It begins with letters the editors of every Colorado News Paper possible. It begins with letters to Colorado Congresspersons on both the state and federal level. It begins with letters to the Congresspersons of the other states to start asking questions of the CHS. We can continue to grumble about the faults of the CHS and their crimes they have committed among ourselves, but within this forum we are only reaching those persons who share the same passion of Narrow Gauge Rail. We must now bring that same passion to the good people of Colorado. Their passion is different from ours for different reasons, but the one common ground that most persons carry is a seeded passion for what is right. Most persons will agree that saving our great nations heritage is an important resource that must be cherished and nurtured by persons who care more for history itself rather than the mighty dollar upon which they falsely believe they can earn upon the exploitation of our heritage.
I believe that the few sugar coated articles that have been published on the problems with the Loop have worked exactly in the way upon which they were designed and crafted. They have given the general citizens a false since of hope that the CHS is doing the right thing and have everything under control. Those of us in the Narrow Gauge community have the inside knowledge to be able to read between the lines and see the hidden truth. The common person who is but a humble patron of the Narrow Gauge Community do not have the benefit of this knowledge, therefore are easily deceived by the cleverly crafted articles of deception.
I believe that if we do not take action soon, the Loop will become as Steve stated a forgotten piece of our heritage that a few will ride their bikes upon and talk about how this trail used to be a railroad.
Benjamin Franklin stated the action needed best in the New England Currant in his Silence Dogood letter published July 9, 1772.
“The Administration of Government, is nothing else but the Attendance of the Trustees of the People upon the Interest and Affairs of the People: And as it is the Part and Business of the People, for whose Sake alone all publick Matters are, or ought to be transacted, to see whether they be well or ill transacted; so it is the Interest, and ought to be the Ambition, of all honest Magistrates, to have their Deeds openly examined, and publickly scann’d: Only the wicked Governours of Men dread what is said of them.”

Talk is talk, but action moves mountains.
