Matt, if it's steam, it's gotta be good! Seriously, while I've never ridden the LK&P, my imnpression is that it's a nice ride through the cane fields on Maui and would give you a pretty good indication of what the sugar line were like.
They're running a couple 2-4-0s converted from 0-4-0s and also have #45, a Plymough diesel from the OR&L switching operation in Honolulu. One of two surviving OR&L steam locmotives is stored there as well. Last I heard, #85, an outside-frame ALCO 4-6-0, was in pieces after being returned from Travel Town in CA several years ago. If you get a chance, would you please check into her status and give us a report and maybe a picture or two?
