I rode the cab with Steve Lee on the last run of the #3985 as a coal burner. All of us in the cab had to help with the coal. Lynn saw a huge piece of raw concrete covered with coal dust and he and I pulled it out just before it went into the auger transport feed. It was the size of a basketball. It took two of us to heave it out of the cab onto the Wyoming prarie. It would have made that trip a short one. Grrinnd..cruunch. bang! Sacary stuff.
