While dreaming is fantastic (who doesn't on occasion?) the realization of connecting the 2 surviving portions of the D&RGW ng, is in all reality just that, a dream.
This thread, or ones very similar to it, have been discussed in great length about once a year since this discussion page was originated.
Once, there was even a group calling themselves the "Friends of the San Juan Extension" looking at land acquistions, costs of equipment, etc....
As for the ALA-ANT portion, this has also been discussed previously, in fact, the former operator, GB, was on record as stating his intention to operate that portion if/when it become available.
We can all keep dreaming about what could be, as, to paraphrase Earl Knoob, "anything can be done, it only takes time and money"
