It all sounds like good advice to me. I'm going from the advice given by a local Pittsburg Paint store. The boiled linseed is available just about anywhere you can buy paint. In years past, it was used as a primer, and it is still used in many paints. My first experience with it came when my dad made a new stock for his shotgun, I was about 5 and learned how to apply it and rub it until the wood shined.
