I have to admit to using the poor-man's "Phomite and Phone-Line Philter" in mgx Picture Publisher to remove an occasional background distraction from an image that - in many cases - simply cannot be reproduced today.
Yeah, I know we've had this conversation before, Russ. I don't mind so much with little things, and I won't say that I haven't blotted out some minor feature a time or two, but stuff which fundamentally changes a scene bugs me. In that Goose shot, for example, I'd at least consider dealing with that ID, but doing something with the offending door would be way over the top for me. What's really back there, and what would I replace it with? Stuff that I'd made up. It's just too much, and ends up being an image of something that never was.
And, BTW, I'm glad you didn't remove the V-dub from your shot. It belongs there and, I believe, adds to the image.
