Hmm... nobody else has any "just missed" images and stories they want to share? Aw, c'mon!
OK, one more mea culpa from me then.
This one's at the Loop during last fall's impromptu photo freight with #9. I knew this was going to be a shadow side shot, and ordinarily I wouldn't have tried, but:
Sometimes, especially when there's light on the nose, an "offside" shot can work. I planned to shoot this with Fuji's excellent Reala 100, a sharp, reasonably saturated color negative film with a good 9 stops of dynamic range. No digital camera or transparency film had a prayer here. And, well, I was just too tempted by the chance to shoot from a spot normally verboten, and by the wonderful light and sky I had to work with from that angle.
Well... it almost worked. The colors are good, the low-angle, late-fall-day light wonderful, the sky interesting, and even the shadowed rolling stock is OK, but the star of the scene - #9 - is just too shadowed at that tight angle.
