I haven't had any problems connecting, and there is nothing wrong with their DNS server, I've been querying it once a day for about two weeks looking for a negative response and it never has.

I think the issue is with overloaded DNS servers not keeping up records with smaller sites. Either from an ISP or something like OpenDNS.

One item to try is in the DNS record for ngdiscussion, bump up the record time to live from 4 hours to 12, that way the DNS servers can cache it longer. There is some RFC about not sending expired records, so they dump rather than check again. Since the server isn't on a dynamic DNS IP address there is no problem extending the TTL
