Bob was my guest yesterday on board the #0500 caboose as we rode the D&S photo excursion to Cascade. He entertained us with stories of the good old days and he is still sharp as a tack at 96 years young. He saved the #0500 from the scrap line for the modest sum of $125.00 plus tax. It doesn't get much better than riding the rear platform through the Animas River Gorge with a mile by mile narration from one of the most knowledgeable and nicest guys I have ever met.
