Dan: According to the original GE wiring diagram,15 & 19 were first built for the Oahu. Don't know if it was a specific request for them to be 47 tonners or if the truck style caused the weight increase from a 44 tonner. The low clearance cab is definitely an industrial design. Of the 50+ units built 8 were 3' gauge; the two Oahu, 2 military and 4 to the Yucatan Ry in Mexico. The remainder were either meter or 3'6". The Newfoundland Ry had several, believe a couple went to Puerto Rico, the rest scattered around.
