A question please for the railroaders among us.
I'm reading over a copy of Time-Table 122 of September 6, 1942 and looking at the page for Sub-Division 12, Chama to Durango. My question is regarding the meeting of trains 115 and 116 at Carracas, each with a scheduled time of 1:35 PM. Eastward trains being superior to Westward trains would suggest that train 116 has the right of way between Carracas and Chama after 1:35 PM and if 115 can't make it to Carracas by 1:35 PM that he should hold at Pagosa (Gato) or wherever it is safe to do so to let 116 pass, but the timetable clearly shows a meet between 115 and 116 by notation on the sheet.
Does that notation on the timetable call for a solid meet or do the rights of trains by direction dictate? In the rules, trains are given rights by timetable, class, direction or train orders. Is this an instance when the timetable dictates the action or is this merely a suggestion for a meeting point with time and direction being the determining factors?
