Thanks for the vote of confidence, Skip -

But IMHO Ed took a BIG chance including just ONE of my songs in his repertoire – and performing it in public not once, but twice.  I don't have the music score, but IIRC it is the same tune as the traditional Brabanter song, "Mein Hut, es hat dri Ecke" that Bill Foxx of the Foxx Inn in West Los Angeles (or East Santa Monica) used to perform regularly.   Bill was best known for being able to quaff a full mug of beer in less than three seconds, but I remember him mainly for a trio of WWII ditties that he sang frequently:
"Whistle while you work
"Hitler is a jerk
"Mussolinni beat his wienie
"Now it doesn't work"

*****

"Oh, there are no Fighter Pilots down in Hell
"Oh, there are no Fighter Pilots down in Hell
"Navigators, Bombardiers – and a lot of other Queers
"But there are no Fighter Pilots down in Hell

"Oh, there are no Fighter Pilots in the States
"Oh, there are no Fighter Pilots in the States
"They are all on Foreign Shores – making Mothers out of Whores
"Oh, there are no Fighter Pilots in the States

*****

"Hitler   Has only got one ball
"Goering   Has two, but they are small
"Himmler   Is somewhat sim-lar
"But poor old Goe-balls  Has No Balls  At All ... "
The third song above also fits well with an ancient memory of a Tommy Smothers monologue explaining why, for the soundtrack of the movie 'Bridge on the River Quai', the song was only whistled, and not sung . . .

p.s. If Ed were to flatter me by someday performing another of my original librettos in public, I would much prefer that it be "They Are Rioting in Silver Plume" – a number which, IIRC, should be dear to your heart as well . . .   (See [ngdiscussion.net].)
