fellows ,
A friend sent me this thread { and this site address , I joined up }..
I have Orchard car equipment co. bits..
I have recently laid 18" gauge at my place .
I think the orchard car lines were two footers..?..The things are very usable..user friendly.?..Just drill some new holes in the axle / tube and set wheels .
I am interested in information on the "Orchard car equipment Co. Cleveland Ohio .I searhed the internet for something about that with no luck.
A prize I have is a set of roller bearing pedestals . These are neat castings with little plates to cover the outer edge , two little bolts hold the plate on.They are labelled "Orchard car eq. co , clevelnad Ohio.
I have a pot of obviously home made pedestal axle holder things. each one , a big round washer { fits the O.D. of the axle } welded to a "U" bolt , One leg of the "U" bolt is longer and has a nut on it.Apparently the one nut being enough to hold them in place with the other leg just being a stub.
This is a very intersting topic to me , as are the Taiwan / Japanese Pushcar lines as in Charley Smalls book " Railways to the mines."
I will post some fotos after I get them into flicker or some such.
