SVR Narrow to Standard conversion?

I read a document that mentions the SVR had considered converting from narrow to standard gauge track sometime around 1910. The SVR was serious enough, the document says, that standard size ties were used as replacements for a wperiod of time. Any truth to this? How would this have fit the SVR's plans to expand across Oregon to Lakeview? Or had Eccles given up on that idea by the end of his life? And would a conversion to standard guage be possible without huge RoW alignment changes?
