I recall when this policy was first put forth on e-Bay by an order from the Department of Home Land Security. E-Bay has no experts for assessing the age or anything else of "Subway and railway keys, tools, or anything that was once used to drive or control a subway or train, regardless of the age of the item. This includes railway switch keys (also known as, ?switch lock keys?)."
So they went whole hog and prohibited everything. I think it is rather dumb, but I also think that the initial ban on railfans taking photos was dumb also.
Anyway, unless e-Bay would hire an expert, they will continue to reject these items.
By the way, is it not amazing how many ex-perts we have. They all left their pert jobs. Is pert a growth industry? What is a pert anyway?
